The main character in this story is an eastern European man named Zakhar, although everybody just called him Zak. He's around 28 years old, wears tracksuits everywhere, smokes and drinks too much, and is involved in shady businesses like buying and selling slaves. He has no job because he broke his own leg and made it look like an accident, and gets disability checks from the government... which he spends on tracksuits, cigarettes, and beer. Zak has far too much time on his hands. So, Zak has no real morals and isn't too smart. He's also got a real sadistic streak.
One day, Zakhar decided he wanted to go buy a slave. He'd helped his slaver friends move boxes full of animal-people and crates of tinies in his handicap-van before, but he'd never thought to buy one. Zak hobbled on into the slave pens to look around, where he was met by his buddy, Slavebroker Nick.
"Ah, Zak! What brings you here? Thinking about buying a slave?" Nick said.
Zak nodded.
"Sure am! What you got for me?" He asked.
"I don't know, how much you got?" Nick said.
Zak got out his wallet and showed Nick his disability check, which was enough to buy most slaves Nick had available.
"Ooh, spending your beer money here today?" Nick said.
"Yes, I'm trying to cut down beer so I don't get fat." Zak said.
"Well, you can get most any slave you want here, Zak my boy. Have a look around." Nick said.
Zak hobbled around the pens. All around him were animal-people called anthros, sitting in cages. Most were either nude or wore only tattered scraps of clothing. There were also terrariums full of tiny people, only a few inches tall about the size of a small action figure. They were in a semi-natural habitat and wore scraps and rags like loincloths, almost like a little tribe.
One thing that caught Zak's eye was a horse-girl, a girl with horse-like features like hooves and ears. Zak wanted to take her home and torment her... but he also saw a box full of naked tiny women, and those might be fun to torment too.
