Chapter #6
Question and Offer.
by: Unknown
While you occasionally haven't been too shy about insulting some of the larger residents, you weren't exactly up for making this semi-friendly newcomer your enemy. "R-right then. I'm sorry I bothered you with that." You slowly start backing away. "Maybe I'll visit you later."
Before you could run, two pointed fingers quickly snatched you up. "Tell me something." She said with her eyes squinting at you. "What exactly do you see in those abominations? Why was that corpse worth it for you to come here and try to lecture me?" Her tone was harsh, but she didnt seem as mad at you as she did a moment ago.
"Um... Well... I actually owe my life to her. She kinda saved me from being eaten a few times." You recall, figuring this was probably the only reasoning that would get through to the bigoted gremlin. She was silent for about a minute. Then she started laughing.
"Why are you laughing?" You inquired.
"Just te thought of someone owing their life to a lifeless. It's funny when you think about it." She says with a snort. "Tell you what why not stay with me? I'll keep you away from those other things mouths and maybe you could help me out with some of my projects. I promise it will be fun for both of us."
You were caught completely off guard by her offer. You weren't sure if she simply liked having you around, wanted to keep you away from your undead current roommate or something else. You weren't exactly eager to jump to a new room on a whim, but you also weren't sure how she'd take refusal. You needed to be careful.
