The dictaphone

Josh decided to begin slowly : maybe telekinesis was a good way to experiment. Super strength was cool too, but he didn't want to risk killing someone with just one punch, or even shaking his hand. Well, here I go he thought picking the dictaphone and pressing the record button :

"Nobody knows about it, but I recently developed a powerful telekinesis ability."

The second he pressed the stop button, he heard a sparkling sound, but this time like it was in his brain. Ouch ! Josh felt a sudden headache hitting him, and he fell on his bed, grabbing his painful temples. The sensation stayed for a few seconds, until the sparkling sound faded, just like the pain, and Josh felt like his head was almost lighter without the suffering. He looked around, then went to the bathroom to check himself in the mirror, but only saw his old regular self. No strange look, no huge head, nothing. He went back to his bedroom, locked himself in, and then decided to check if his powers were working. He sat on his bed, took a deep breath, and looking at a pencil on his desk, made a move like he was reaching for it, and focused on the idea of making it float in mid air.

But the second he had his arm reaching for it, the pencil had flew through the room to stop in his open hand, almost glued to it. "Wow, sensitive mind trigger" muttered Josh, It was indeed powerful, as he had altered himself. His smile grew, and he took a jedi pose, standing on his bed, his hand pointing several items that instantly flew to him, or with a bit of concentration, allowed him to make them float in mid-air, this time perfectly. He laughed and then pointed his comics, still at his feet on the bed, and made them fly back to their shelf. But doing so, he realized something strange : he could feel them, even if he wasn't touching them ! The texture of the paper, the old labels on it, the cornered pages... it was like his mind was like a new limb, and had his own sense of touch. Josh was almost ready to applause himself for having asked for a such a powerful power, when he decided that it would be even funnier to try it at school to play pranks. He tested a last time his power to check if he could defend himself with it, and noticing he could make his closet fly without sweating, he took the dictaphone as he knew he was too excited to sleep now. And pressed the record button :

"It's the morning now, I'm perfectly ready and fresh as I had an excellent night, and I'm ready for school !"

A loud, low sound was heard around him and by his window he saw the stars moving at full speed just like the moon, then seconds later a light on the horizon, and he saw the sun beginning to rise, then everything went back to normal speed, just like he had done a fast forward on reality. Looking down, Josh saw that his clothes had changed to new ones, and he had his bag ready just next to his bed.His head felt light and fresh, and for the first time in his life, Josh felt really happy at the idea of going to school...
