The plane shows the direction west...

Since the plane had been traveling westward, it perhaps indicates that direction. The sun is obvuscated by the dark swirling clouds, and the thick jungle canopy is all round you with odd trees. Then what struck you was the SOUNDS all around you. Normally in such a setting there are birds and crickets and frogs. The sounds around you here are way different.

Under a long leafy plant a turtle shell with long hairy spider legs runs away from you.
