". . . it will be very difficult to restore you again. . . but not. . . impossible!! It will be. . .a challenge!!"
Before Aunt Vinka continued, she waved her hands into the air. A blue apparition appeared standing next to her. It was a small child, totally blue, 3'5, and strangely enough. . .sucking his thumb.
Bobby realized immediately that it was him.
Aunt Vinka moved aside so Rose could see the blue spirit. Rose was shocked to see Bobby. . .at the right height. But. . he was. . .see through.
"Vinka. . .is that. . . What! Bobby? Is he. . .dead?"
Aunt Vinka let out a little chuckle.
"No, no, no!! He is not dead!! When his spirit began to dissolve, I captured his essence as it left his body!! What we need to do, is rebind his essence to him!! Then, we can restore his size!! Not his original size. . that part of his essence is long gone!! But. . he can at least return to his other size!!"
Rose looked relieved. She thought that Bobby would be stuck at such a god awful size forever. She didn't know if she could take such a fate for her son.
"Oh thank goodness, everything can go ba-"
Vinka reached out and put her palm on Rose's lips.
"No, no, no!! You know the golden rule about magic!!"
Rose rolled her eyes in annoyance. She put her hands on her head, thinking about what it could possibly mean.
"Yeah, yeah, Vinka. . Magic always has its cost!!"
Vinka shook her head. She sat down again by Bobby at the small table. Rose followed her and did the same.
When the women sat, it caused a tremendous quake for Bobby. Even just sitting down, these women controlled every aspect of him now. It was his worst nightmare, come true!!
Vinka continued her tale, as she moved some of her long red hair away from her face.
"When you accidentally shrank the boy, you used a spirit magic on him, instead of the usual physical!! When you use physical magic, all that is required to restore the user, is a physical sacrifice. But since you used spirit. . ."
Rose closed her eyes, disgusted at all of this. How had she made such a critical error!! Even though at the time, she had just begun practicing magic, she should have known better. Rose knew immediately what needed to be done and finished Vinka's sentence.
"A spirit sacrifice. Bobby will have to be bound to my spirit. Oh my god! How is that going to work?! That ritual is a challenge with even a normal sized person!!"
Bobby was very confused at this point, with all this magic talk. He had no idea what was going on, other than he might be restored again. And if he did, he was going to make sure to always drink that tea before bed!! Aunt Vinka continued going over preparations, regarding all kinds of incantations, spells, etc. Rose stopped her though and looked back down at Bobby.
"Wait, we need to explain this to him!! He needs to know what is going to happen!"
Vinka rubbed her forehead. This is the part she hated doing, telling people the really bad news.
"Bobby, your mom used a spirit curse on you!! What that means is that your mother's spirit must now overcome the demon who committed the act!! It takes seven days to complete, and each day. . .your mother. . .will change!!"
Bobby really didn't want to go through with this now. What did she mean. . . change? Vinka continued. .
"The demon will attack her, which will alter her personality differently for seven days. Each day, Rose will be afflicted by one of the seven deadly sins!! They will be diff-"
Rose put her hand up to stop Vinka.
"He doesn't know what they are. Son, the seven sins are lust, gluttony, greed, slothfulness, wrath, envy, and finally pride!!"
Vinka continued from there. She began rubbing the sides of her head, frustrated by what was about to take place.
"It has to end in pride!! Pride was the first sin that our lord, Lucifer, committed. The other sins can come in any order. To go against our own magic, we must be put through this test. . .and with a curse, it has to affect us within!! But. . it gets worse!!"
Bobby was devastated. He could not believe this was happening. How would he even get through these seven days. . and what could be worse than this!!
"Your mother and you must be in a close proximity to each other. You don't necessarily need to be touching, but. . . basically, you need to be in the same room with her at all times!! If you were normal sized, you'd have a bigger radius but. . .well. . . that is how it has to be!! And, at nights, you need to sleep with each other!!"
Bobby's face turned a sharp shade of red at that. Rose realized what Vinka said, explained further.
"Just by each other, not anything. . well, you know. Not bad, just. . .close to each other at nights!! It'll be just like when you were a baby. . . sorta."
Bobby was blown away. One moment, he was at least living a normal life, now he had all these weird curses and spells. It was like living in a Harry Potter book or something. Well, a Harry Potter book where the character is small.
"Well. . .everything is ready. Rose, Bobby. . . shall we begin the binding of your souls?!?"  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
