Iris is unaware of Axew's evolution.

Iris, having heard Axew call out, turned to look at her Pokémon. How does Iris react?

“Hey, Haxorus, what’s wrong?” Iris said, walking over to Axew, now Haxorus, who was still getting used to his new body.

“Hax, Haxor,” Haxorus said.

Iris reached up a hand up, and scratched Haxorus on the chin. He hummed softly and lowered his head, allowing Iris reach better. She began rubbing the underside of his chin, and Haxorus closed his eyes as he smiled.

“That better?” Iris asked.

“Hax!” Haxorus said happily.

“That’s good,” said Iris. “Now, hold still.”

Iris walked over to Haxorus’ side, and grabbed onto his arm. She pulled herself up, bracing her feet on his leg. She reached over to one of the ridges on his back, and Haxorus moved his arm so she could use it to brace her feet. Iris climbed onto Haxorus’ back, sitting between two of the ridges on his back.

“Thanks,” she said. “Now, come on. We need to catch up to the others.”

“Haxor!” said Haxorus, nodding. Iris wrapped her arms around his neck as Haxorus began to walk, slowly picking up speed until he reached a light jog. As he ran, Haxorus looked down at the remote in his claws. Iris was completely unaware of his evolution into Haxorus.

This remote is more powerful than I thought, Haxorus thought.
