Life felt boring after the defeat of D-reaper: Studying, playing, family, friends...
But all that changed after the arrival of a new kid, Z, to Henry's class. He soon became friend with him and the rest of former tamers.
None of them knew his secret power, changing size, a power he sometimes used to help people or for pranks. In Henry Wong's case, it was a little of both.
The tanned boy was playing videogames with his new friend in theliving room when his older brother Rinchei suddenly appeared, took the TV remote and changed the channel into a series he was really into.
"Eh, we were in the middle of a game!" Henry complained.
"Sorry, but you can play any other time, whereas this show is life just now."
"But there's another television in the kitchen!"
"That one is old and small, I prefer this one. Sorry, baby bro, but this is a privilege of the big brother."
Henry didn't accept that. He tried to steal him the remote, but his brother stood straight and raised his arm, putting it out of the reach of his much younger and shorter brother. The tamer jumped up, but wasn't enough to grab it from his sibling's hand.
Z observed this abuse of strength and decided to do something about it. He glared at Henry, making his body stretch upwards slowly, allowing him to graze the remote in his next jump and snatching it in the following it.
His brother froze for a moment, looking at his piss off years younger brother eye-to-eye. It felt wrong... at least for a moment, until his memories were updated by Z's spell, so he remembered his brother had always been abnormally tall for his age. He was still pretty skinny, but so was the other.
"We were here first, so we'll keep the TV until we finish the game." It was uncommon to see a good kid like Henry that irritated. Enough to make his brother stop.
"Damn, Henry looks so cool confronting his brother..." Z thought, feeling proud "Although the extra foot i(30cm) n height made him cooler... And maybe I can make him even more..."
A tingle, and Henry experimented a short growth spurt, making him half a head taller than Rinchei, probably one inch or two taller than his own father.
The now little big brother clicked his tongue frustrated and left.
"You won, Wong!" Z congratulated his friend, making him feel a little embarrassed.
"It's not a big deal, my brother is a bit of a jerk sometimes, but he's all bark. I wish he grew up someday."
The irony of his comment didn't elude Z, who laugh a little.
