As wrong as it feels to eat an innocent person, no matter how dead they are, it definitely beats eating one of the spiders. You quickly sneak over to the cocoon and begin cutting it down. Lowering it down gently, you find that it's a lot less sticky compared to the normal webbing. You let out a sigh of relief that you're not going to have to cut it open before positioning yourself at one end. You open your mouth much wider than a normal person can, a side effect of your gastromancy, before lifting the cocoon into your mouth. The silk leaves a bland taste on your tongue, so you quickly swallow, sending it into your awaiting throat. You gulp as quickly as you can while remaining quiet so as not to alert the spiders to your presence. It isn't long before the cocoon is fully inside your stomach, which is now lightly gurgling as it digests it's meal. You test out your magic by casting a night vision spell on yourself and find it working as intended as the cave lights up around you. You stand up, cradling your bloated stomach and begin making your way back out, now much easier because you can so.
Once out of the cave you repeat the same process as before, extending your palm and casting the spell. A bright red fireball releases from your hand, shooting straight into the cave. Light floods the cave as the fireball flies through it, lighting any webs it passes on fire. Once it strikes the back of the cave it erupts in a beautiful explosion of red and orange, lighting the nest ablaze. You continue pointing your arm at the cave, shooting and fleeing spiders with more fireballs. You stand guard, waiting until the fire finally burns out. You keep your guard up as you return to the cave, making sure that the cave is totally clear, before returning to Madame Lustria's shop. You take notice at just how much magical energy it took, with your once extremely bloated stomach now the size of a large pot belly.
You quickly return to Norlec, very pleased with yourself and how you handled your first quest. You walk through the shop door and shout, "Madame! I'm back!"
The thick figure of Madame Lustria quickly appears from the back of the shop.
"Oh, you're back!" She says gladly, leaning on the counter and inadvertently, you hope, giving you a straight view down her deep cleavage. "Soooo, how did it go?"
"It went well," you explain, "just a cave of giant spiders. They're nothing but ash now."
"Aww, look at my big bad gastromancy!" She says, lovingly pinching your cheek.
"Madame, please," you plead.
"Oh, but you're just so cute! Now, I've gotten a couple orders while you were gone, if you can work on those while I inform the mayor, that would be wonderful!"
You let out a deep sigh before saying, "Yes, Madame." as she walks out of the shop, giving you a kind wave.
You take a look at the list Madame Lustria left on the workstation in the backroom. On it are two potions, a shrinking potion, and growing potion. Both are rather laborious potions that would take about a day each to brew. You decide to work on...
