Hicca races towards Toothless, and leaps onto his back.
"C'mon Buddy." she strokes his neck, and holds on as Toothless kicks off and with a single bound is in the air.
"Back to the village." her voice is softer, and as she rides it hits her.
Toothless hasn't reacted at all to this change. Not even a curious or cautionary sniff.
Toothless flew low and fast weaving between the trees as he went. It was the type of flying that Hiccup enjoyed, but at the moment, she had other things on her mind.
She kept her eyes on the horizon, allowing Toothless to choose their route.
It was only when a voice called out that she looked up.
She had to crane her neck, as she saw the familiar large head of a nadder. It was Stormfly and Astrid.
"Hiccup." the voice repeated.
It wasn't Astrid, that was a deeper voice... a man's voice.
She slowed Toothless, and watched as the rider swooped in closer. The flying was incredible, Hiccup had to admire it.
The wings hid who the rider was, "Astrid..." she asked uncertainly.
Soon the two dragons were flying side by side. He didn't recognise the rider, well that's not quite true. Who it was, was quite clear. There were little features and details to his face that told Hiccup this was Astrid. Not the least of these was the rather annoyed look on his face.
"This is your fault, Hiccup." he snarled. "Or should I say Hicca."
Hiccup just pointed to the ground for them to land.
As they both dismounted, it was clear that Astrid was male, and about a foot taller than Hiccup.
"Hi. I'm Astor. Or at least to everyone else, that's who I've always been." He pushed Hiccup forcefully on the chest, so she fell backwards over a rock.
He stood over the splayed out form of the chief's daughter.
"Everyone thinks this is the way things are. Ruffnut just tried to hit on me." he squirmed and made an disgusted face.
"Sorry, I don't know my own strength." he offered a hand to her.
"As soon as I realised that I was the only one who knew your name, Hicca. Then I knew who had to be behind it. So I came here straight away."
