The Smilodon grin looked rather unthreatening, considering its size and species. ''Why would I hurt you? I'm just curious about you that's all.'' Replied the Smilodon. ''So you don't see me or us for that matter as food? you asked the beast as you stood back up The Smilodon snorted. ''Eurgh! To small to satisfy my hunger and besides I don't eat other talking creatures, that's disgusting!'' You shook your head in disbelief 'I'm talking to a giant talking predator who could snuff me out with ease. How did I end up in this mess?' As you thought the Smilodon dropped to its belly. The ground shook as the heavy body crashed down on the ground. The huge thick muscular forelegs lay either side of you. ''Do not fear, I'm just laying down whilst I talk with you.'' Boomed the Smilodon. Its loud voice was giving you a headache. Can you talk a little softer? Your voice is so powerful it's giving me a headache!'' You groaned. ''Sorry! Is this better?'' Asked the Smilodon as it spoke in a softer tone. ''Much better'' You replied. Its voice was still a little loud, but not as much as before. ''So what do you want to talk with me about?'' You asked the cat.
''Your kind. I've never seen anything like you before. Or heard about you. I followed the others but they just ran and ran.''
''Couldn't you just stop one like me?''
''Yes, but they ran so close together, I would of crushed some to stop one.''
''But how did you know not to attack at first?''
''Curiousity at first, then when I heard some talking I knew I'd found talking creatures, so I followed hoping to find there habitat. Which is another thing. I've never seen your habitats before, was that thing back there? Was it your habitat?''
''That's a car for transport. This world is not ours. A portal brought us here then some of us explored encountering you.''
''I have no idea what a portal or car is. But you're here now. You can stay with me if you like''
''So you'll... Look after me?!''
''Yes. Surely you can't be that hard to care for?''
''Erm no... I don't think so''.
'Oh great. I'm this beast's 'pet' maybe I should make the most of it... Its friendly and quite majestic. Damn it! I'll play along for now.' You thought as you realised what a very peculiar situation you was in. ''So what next?'' You asked the Smilodon. It replied ''Oh first...''
