Marty's boots rang down cavernous marble hallways of the magic guild. Although he had been here many times before, he could not help but stare in wonder at the splendor that surrounded him.
The lobby seemed to stretch on forever, golden light cascading from the windows in the high vaulted ceiling and bouncing off the white walls, giving the place an otherworldly appearance.
Huge statues of wizards and mages from from a distant past lined the hallway, towering over him like silent, unmoving giants.
Though, despite all its awe-inspiring architecture and decorations Marty couldn't help but feel uneasy.
This place was so silent, vast and ancient. It existed long before Kamore was built around it, and Marty was certain he would get lost forever in the many hallways building if he didn't have some kind of guide to help him out.
It made the cheetah feel small and insignificant, like he didn't belong here.
Silently flying above him were envelopes and folders containing documents, propelled by magic to their destination.
In the magic guild small errands were ran by magic. It saved up having to hire staff to handle them. That would explain why this place had so few people in it.
Marty marched up to the administration desk and said to the shriveled, elderly rat, "I'm here to gather some healing potions and antidotes and browse through the library for some spells.''
He showed the rat his guild membership certificate, who studied it before saying with his creaky voice, " Take the third hallway on your right, turn right and then head up the stairs.''
"Thanks," said Marty, trying to remember the directions as he marched
He might have been here many times before, but the sheer size of this place always confused him.
