This choice: The Potion Backfires  •  Go Back...
Chapter #5

Gag-goyle

by: Dylan M Author IconMail Icon
Looking down at yourself as the effects of the potion take hold, you expected to be unable to see your own body, but you were stunned to see that you were still visible! What was more, you felt an odd weight on your back and at the base of your spin.

"Damnit!" you shout, your wings flaring angrily.

Wait...wings?!

Needing a look at yourself, you stare at your reflection in one of the empty potion bottles and your jaw dropped. You were horrified to see that your hands had changed into four-taloned fingers, your legs end in three-taloned toes, and a long prehensile tail. Your hair was now white, your eyes were red with a pure white iris and pupil, your skin had turned a dark purple/indigo shade, and you had large, bat-like wings coming from your back that had pale lilac membranes.

You were a...a...

NO!

You'd been turned into a monster! And not just ANY monster, but the one you hated most: a gargoyle!

This couldn't be true! That damned orc! She'd...! DAMNIT! You glare up at Priscilla, you're too outranged to even speak. You duck behind one of the legs of Priscilla's bed, feeling she deserved WHATEVER Cree did to her.

Speaking of...

"Well, well, well...what do we have here? Contraband magics?! You are SO in trouble!" Cree's voice cackled and you heard the cell door open and Priscilla backed up in terror as you heard knuckles cracking and Cree stepped into the cell.

"NO! PLEASE, NO!" the orc wailed as Cree laughed before you heard a loud crashing sound. You dared to peak out from your hiding spot and saw that the Werehyena had knocked Priscilla to the ground and was looming over her and raised her foot to start stomping.

You sneered. Dumb orc deserved it for turning you into a monster. You tried to carefully sneak out of the cell, but kept tripping over your new tail. As you heard the sound of Pricilla's bones--most likely her ribs--you freeze.

Why did you feel so...guilty?

She was a monster, furthermore, the orc had turned you into one yourself! But..as you see the alarm button above you on the wall opposite the cells, you start thinking that you can't beat Cree in a straight up fight, but you had a feeling about who could.

Gah! You shake your head. This wasn't like you! But you were already moving. Your new claws and strength easily punctured the wall and you climbed up it hand and foot like a ladder...huh, if you didn't hate gargoyles so much, you'd be glad this was so useful...until you reach the underside of the alarm and slash a hole in the bottom and climb into it.

It takes you a few risky minutes and attempts but eventually....

BRRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGGGG!

Gah! You clamp your clawed hands to your ears as the alarm went off, alerting to gards to rush to this section of the prison. You thrash in agony from the massive noise and fall through the hole you made and crash to the floor, your skull ringing and leaving you disoriented.

Over the alarm, you hear Cree's voice shout "SHIT!"

A huge figure swoops over you and through the halls and quickly lands in front of Priscilla's cell. You can't hear what was being said but as your hearing started coming back a little, you hear outraged shouting.

"Planting contraband in the cells to have an excuse to beat on the prisoners?! Cree! That's IT!" a voice you knew better than anyone shouted and then the sounds of a struggle and then the rest of the prison staff arrive.

"...Belladonna! get your butt in gear and paralyze Cree with your stinger already!" Destiny grunts.

A short scuffle later, a poisoned and immobilized werehyena is dragged off and Icy, the new girl harpy, is carrying Priscilla towards Under Gloom's medical ward.

By the time they pass, you were feeling well enough to stand and walk, even though your head hurt and made seeing straight almost impossible and your wings feel a little funny from your crashing...must have landed on them when you hit the floor...

As you stumble through the hall, almost drunkenly, you hear Destiny ranting furiously to herself, even as you make out a massive, blurry, cyan object making its way towards you. "...Corruption and officer brutality, in my prison...! Of all the...! URAGH! I won't stand for it! Cree was supposed to be a deterrent! Scare the inmates into obeying the prison rules, but she's a damned sadistic loose cannon!...What I wanna know is why the alarm went off..." Destiny muttered.

Destiny's foot comes down and you flinch. The good news is that she didn't squish you, the bad news: you were stuck between her talons.

"...Huh? What was that?!" you hear the voice of your nemesis say from above you

You have the following choice:

1. Destiny spots and grabs you
