Jessica was a sweet little girl, at six and a half years old, and held you, her big brother, in great admiration. You were seventeen years old, and considering options for your education. University sounded good.
Jessica was pretty tall for her age, standing at three foot eight inches. She would probably be a bit taller than average height when she grows up. Jessica seemed to greatly enjoy growing taller, something you hoped wouldn't develop into a paraphilia after puberty hit her.
Jessica runs into the room, jumping onto the sofa and sitting next to you. "Hey big bro! What are you doing?" She obviously wanted you to do something with her. "Relaxing." You reply. She impatiently glances around, trying to hide her plans of enrolling you into whatever activity she had planned. "Can you measure me, big bro? I think I might have grown again..."
You think about this. It had been about a week since you last measured Jessica. If she really was in the middle of a growth spurt, it couldn't hurt to check how fast she was growing. "All right, Jessica. Let's use the height chart on the wall in your bedroom."
Jessica leaps off the sofa and begins to run up the stairs to her bedroom, with you following behind. You emerge into her room, which was dominated by the colour pink. The walls were covered by a pink wallpaper, the carpet was pink, her bed sheets were pink. Most of her clothes were pink. A large pile of stuffed animals of various sizes, the majority of them being pretty big, laid on Jessica's bed, and an absolutely huge inflatable unicorn, seven foot seven inches tall, stood next to the window, completely blocking any view of the outside world with its squeaky white bulk. Jessica had received it as a birthday present when she realized why she couldn't have a real pony, and requested an inflatable version.
Jessica lined up straight against her height chart, which was made to resemble a giraffe, and you use a pen to mark her height. Four feet, one inch.
Hang on a minute!
"Jessica, can you stand against it again, I may have recorded the wrong height." She complies, and you check. She really was four foot one. She had grown four inches taller in a week!
Jessica simply seemed happy with her growth, and hugged you, now much stronger. She then hugged the inflatable unicorn, causing squeaks to fill the air.
