One thing that Kat never noticed and her doctor neglected to tell her was about the pain killers that she was taking. They had a major side affect of slowing her metabolism down. He didn't say anything because it had only set in for some patients, others had not experienced any kind of weight gain, and he did not want to alarm her. Had Kat been more careful, or read the small print on the container, she may have noticed the possibility of weight gain, but as it was, she arrogantly neglected to read about possible side affects.
Kat took the injury as a chance to rest a bit. She wasn't going to be able to jog while she was on crutches, so she decided to just get back at it after she healed. For most of the first week, all Sean saw her do was sit around and watch TV, and eat. Her and Sean were having much larger meals, in part because on of the things that she could do was lean on a crutch and make things. He never recalled having such good food before, and Kat was happy to make it for him.
However, after the first week, Sean wondered if Kat's rock hard abs looked a bit softer.
