As Reese tried to make a bit of space after Paula's dumping of party supplies a waitress came over carrying an overcrowded tray of drinks.
"Is this the table for a pot of tea," She asked, "One black coffee, one latte, a strawberry milkshake, one Coca-Cola and an orange juice?" There were collective nods, but as she tried to nudge her way in to deliver the order the tray overbalanced and the beverages went everywhere, a few decorative objects tumbled out of Paula's bag and scratched the now-drenched laptop, soaked in tea, coffee, milkshake, coke and juice. There was barely a second to react when a quantum explosion rocked the café.
After the panic subsided it was discovered that there was no incendiary damage but the paintwork around the area of the explosion had been completely stripped and the table, chairs and all seven who were seated there had simply vanished, hardly a trace could be found of them.
Woozily Taylor Clarence awoke, believing that she was in a hospital bed. As it turned out she was most certainly not in a bed and she was still wearing all her clothes, but she couldn't yet ascertain exactly where she was but it was clear that...
