As soon as you come out of warp, you know that there's a problem. The planet on your view screen is much, MUCH larger than you were lead to believe. The gravity is much stronger as well you soon discover. Your being pulled in! You throttle up your reverse thrusters to maximum in an attempt to escape the planets gravity well, but it's already too late, there's nothing you can do now except initiate reentry procedures and try to find a decent landing spot. With any luck you'll be able to make a soft landing.
This is NOT your lucky day it turns out. Not only do you not manage to make a soft landing, you also manage to hit something on the way down, changing your controlled decent into an uncontrolled plummet. As your ship falls away from the airborne object that caused your current predicament you manage to catch a quick glimpse of it. "What the hell? That looked like a bird! But there's no way it could be a bird, the damn thing was almost as big as the ship!" you exclaim, not believing your eyes. You'll have to worry about whether or not your going crazy latter however. Right now, you have bigger problems. Your going to crash! You brace for impact and hope for the best. "This is going to be rough!" you think right before your ship impacts into the top of a dense forest canopy. The ship shudders and shakes with the violent impact, throwing you all over the place and snapping your restraint harness like tissue paper. Your head smacks into the console, and you pass out.
