"Would that..." Cindy stammered awkwardly, biting her lip, "would that actually be okay... if I did?"
"Of course," her mother smiled. "I can't see much point in wearing them 'just in case', can you? Not when you're fully potty-trained. But, I guess if we get you some nice big, absorbent, proper diapers, we can just spend that whole week pretending that you're not."
"Really?" Cindy's eyes widened, struggling to believe how her parents could possibly be okay with this.
"It's not like those kind of things come on and off too easily," her mother shrugged complacently. "Not the kind I have in mind, anyway."
Cindy looked up at her mother. How did she know enough about diapers in Cindy's current size to have any particular 'kind' in mind?
"Uhm..." she murmured tentatively, holding her mother's gaze for a moment. "What kind is that, mummy?"
Her mother offered her a reassuring smile,
"The kind so that we don't have to change you too many times every day," she promised Cindy assuredly. "That'll be less embarrassing for you, right?"
