As Mega Man started to round the corner, you saw he was dressed in your Zero Suit, only resized to fit his smaller body. You also observed that Mega Man was no longer wearing his blue armour. You had previously assumed that, since Mega Man was a robot, his armour was a part of him. However, that didn’t appear to be the case. You performed another diagnostic, which confirmed that you were wearing Mega Man’s blue armour, including the Mega Busters built into the arms. Why you hadn’t noticed that during your first diagnostic?
As Mega Man got closer, you noticed a metallic sheen to his complexion, and the dark hair that was normally hidden by his helmet looked like a single sculpted piece. Was he still a robot, even though he was living the life of an organic? Using the knowledge you’d gained from Mega Man’s life, you activated Mega Man’s Weapon Copy System. While you wouldn’t get any new weapons or abilities by scanning him, it would allow you to see if Mega Man was still robotic, even while living the life of an organic being.
Oblivious to your scan, Mega Man continued walking down the hall towards you, and you felt a strange compulsion. It seemed that you wanted to act as Mega Man normally did, even though you were aware that you were really Samus Aran. However, you knew that Mega Man, who was currently living in your life, might get suspicious if you were acting strange. After all, he was technically now you, and you knew that’s how you’d react if you saw Mega Man acting strangely.
“Hi, Miss Aran!” you said cheerfully, waving at Mega Man as he walked past.
“Hello,” Mega Man said, offering you a nod and a slight smile.
Once Mega Man was past you, your scan of him finished, and the results surprised you. Mega Man’s body was still robotic, despite the fact that he was living in your life. You weren’t an organic, so why was Mega Man still robotic? Did the remote simply leave him robotic when you swapped lives? If that was the case, then why had the remote made you robotic? Would you go back to being organic if you undid the swap, or would you still be robotic?
As you considered the implications of all this, you also began to consider your next action. You could stay in Mega Man's life, at least for a short time. That could give you further insight into what it was like to be a robot. There were still five other buttons that you needed to test, though. Maybe you could test them out on Mega Man, or even find someone else to swap with. As your optics drifted down to the remote in your hand, another idea came to your processor. Perhaps you could try to copy the swapping powers. Was that even possible?
All of these thoughts and more passed through your software in milliseconds, and as you looked down at the remote, you came to a decision.
