Chapter #6
Look into the Irish connection
by: Unknown
Marcus looked over his notes at his deck from the interview as his partner Erik came back from questioning the new victim.
“How did things go with the new victim?” Marcus asked not even looking up from his notepad.
“Not good...She was far too emotional. Definitely drugged. She was a pretty high up executive at this plastic manufacturer downtown. Sounds like someone spiked her coffee cause she said she was fine until a business meeting mid way through the day when the transformation hit her.” Erik said.
Marcus looked up from his notes a bit. “A plastic manufacturer? That’s nothing special, why target someone like that?”
“It sounds weird too. They make things like plastic baggies and hard plastic containers for food. I mean it’s not like they are some revolutionary company or anything.” Erik said.
Marcus’ eyes suddenly widened as he saw a connection somewhere.
“What was the name of the company?” Marcus said standing up.
Erik thought for a moment before looking back to his notes.
“Umm...O’Brian Plastics. Family owned company for over 40 years. Founder was an Irish immigrant Jacob O’Brian. Now his son Jacob Jr, runs it. Our victim was one of financial executives who had only been with the company for three years.” Erik said.
“That’s it! Our early victim swears she remembers seeing a Celtic knot tattoo on the girl she met at the party. I’m thinking there might be an Irish mob connection here.” Marcus said.
Erik thought about it for a moment. “Why the hit on the plastic company? You think the owner is dealing dirty with the mob?” He asked.
“Could be...However it could something else. You know uncut Efemoral is highly volatile right? If you wanted to transport a large enough supply of it you would need special plastic containers. What better place than local Irish company? Perhaps the mob reached out to them and they refused. This could be retaliation or blackmail.” Marcus noted.
“Maybe a chat with Jacob Jr is in order?” Erik said with a smile seeing this was their best lead.
“Or we could...sneak in and do little bit of investigating? See if their plant has any secrets to tell?” Marcus also suggested.
That sounded more dangerous but could lead to a bigger result....Thinking it over they decided to
