Felix was finally able to think once again. The agony of transformation was a terrifying memory. His clothes drenched in sweat, clung to a body that had lost a couple of pints of water, in that same sweat that clung to his new body.
A frozen Doctor watched from the other side of the lab, torn between fear and scientific curiosity. "Water..." he croaked. His lips parched, chapped, and stuck together. His mouth a desert, he was still able to glare his malign command to the scared scientist.
A beaker serving as a glass, was rinsed in the sink, and refilled.
"Slowly..." the doctor advised, having to tip the glass slightly and allow the evil crime lord to drink. As he came back to himself, his hands rose to assist, to take control, to set the speed he could drink.
He emptied the beaker in several deep, gulping swallows. Immediately feeling sick and overwhelmed, he thrust the empty beaker back. Hiding his discomfort with a snarl. "More." he commanded. His voice stronger, clearer.
Sitting up, the lab lurched, as dizziness threatened to steal him back to unconsciousness.
The second beakerful he took at a more measured pace. "Food." he commanded. Needing the energy to stand up, to recoup that lost with the transformation. A quick asssessment told him, he still wore his familiar body, even if it was exhausted.
Settling back, he ate the scientist's lunch, and allowed the strength to flow back in.
"Now..." he said cautiously, sitting forward, rolling his stiff shoulders, "Let's see if it was worth the price." A look telling the doctor that this was time his research would be tested. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
