You carefully approach Chris's desk watching where you step so you don't squash anyone. Once there you get down on your knees to talk with him so that your face is level with the desk. He trips over a pencil and falls onto his butt in shock but he at least isn't screaming at you. Chris you say, how did this happen? He responds by saying that after class began there was a bright light and the whole class shrank. Look Chris you say we need to get you out of here and get some help. None of the other classes shrank so their is no telling what could happen to everyone. Let me take you home with me and we can notify the authorities and keep all of y'all together. That way y'all have a better chance of getting back normal. Chris is silent for a moment before agreeing it would be best to stay together. With that said you announce to the whole class what you and Chris have decided but that you won't take anyone against their will. You will wait at the front of the class until the bell rings, if they are willing then meet you there. If not then they are on their own.
