This choice: You wake up later and find Allison at your bedside. • Go Back...Chapter #6You wake up later and find Allison at your beds... by: Wassel You awoke sometime later to the sensation of something stroking gently at your hand. Prying open your eyes to see none other than your girlfriend, Allison. Her beautiful face looking slightly troubled as she looked off into the distance. Clearly deep in thought.
"Alison..." you softly whispered. Getting her attention. Still feeling rather groggy indeed.
Immediately her eyes snapped down towards you. Realizing you were awake, she gave you a smile. "Hey," she said. Gripping your hand now. "Welcome back to the world of the living. We thought you were never gonna wake up."
"How... How long have I been asleep?"
"Oh, about four days now," she told you. "The doctors thought it best if you get some rest while they run a few more tests." Adding then, as she stroked a finger across your cheek. "It's good to see you though."
"You too," you smiled back. Finding comfort in her words. Allison of all people having always known how to make you feel good. Telling her that, "I... I had this horrible dream that there was a car crash and they took my brain out, and... and..." Not even having to finish. Seeing it written all across your girlfriend's eyes, as if she knew exactly what you were about to say, and you knew exactly what she was; That it was no dream. "Oh God... It was real wasn't it?"
She dipper her head. Avoiding your gaze as she answered. "Yes... I'm afraid so."
"So I'm in..."
"Mom's body, yeah."
"Oh no... Oh Allison. I'm so sorry," you mumbled weakly. Having hoped it had all just been some horrible nightmare. The accident. The doctors. Waking up and hearing about the transplant. As well as the truly creepy vision of Mrs. Lowry's face in the mirror perfectly matching your own. All the anguish, sadness and guilt suddenly filling your body again. Feeling as if somehow it had all been your fault. Pleading for your girlfriend's forgiveness, as tears began forming in your eye. "I didn't mean for this to happen. I just woke up and the doctors - -"
Allison stopped you. "Tim, shhh," she said, putting a finger up to your mouth and shaking her head. "It's not your fault. Any of it. The doctors just did what they thought was right. Mom was..." She paused. Clearly struggling. Although she was doing her best to hide it, you could read your girlfriend like a book, and the pain she felt at the loss of her mother was written all over her face.
"...Mom was gone anyway," she pushed on, "and she would have wanted you to live." Smiling again then, "She always did have a soft spot for you."
This was true, she did. Having always made sure you were fed and watered whenever you were round at their house. Being big into baking and making cakes, and always keeping a spare few out of every batch especially for you. Often telling you when Allison wasn't around, that the key to making her daughter happy was to make her "man happy first". The key to a man's heart of course being his stomach. Having apparently learned this during her own 18 years of marriage.
"Anyway, how are you feeling?" she asked. Quickly changing the subject. "Better I hope."
"I guess. Better than last time I woke up." You could actually feel your body this time, which was definitely a plus.
"Good. Let me just get Dr. Saunders then. He'll want to see that you're okay. Then I guess I'll call my dad and your parents. We've got an awful lot to discuss."
Yeah... I figured there would be, you thought, as you watched Allison get up then and scamper out the door. Assuring you as she went that she'd be back in a minute. You'd had after all become a 42 year old woman and the mother of your girlfriend. Things were certainly going to be a lot different now. Not being entirely sure how you were gonna actually face anyone anymore. Your family. Your friends. People at school.... And the less said about Allison's father the better. Not even being able to imagine what it must be like having your wife die and then someone else take over her body. This whole thing being like the plot of some bad science fiction movie. Mind you, Allison did seem to be coping with it better than you thought she would (even if she was putting on a bit of a brave face). It not exactly being easy for her either. Her boyfriend of 4 years suddenly being her mom. Talk about a mind fuck. If your roles had been reversed, you weren't entirely sure you'd even be able to look her in the eye. But here she was, obviously having been visiting you when you awoke. And when you did, not freaking out or heading for the hills. Instead, trying to be strong and hold things together. Presumably for the boy she loved. Or at least used to... I doubt she does anymore, now that I'm like this!
Looking down at yourself as you tried to sit up a little on the bed, the first thing you of course noticed was your chest. It pushing out much more prominently from beneath he drab green hospital gown that you were wearing than it ever used to. Those two large mounds quite clearly being breasts. You now had breasts. Weird.
Even though they were technically now yours, and even though prior to the operation you would have given anything to get your hands on a pair of boobs like these (Mrs. Lowry being stacked), you felt extremely nervous and creepy staring at them. More than aware of who they really belonged to. This wasn't about to stop you however. Being able to feel the heavy weight of the soft tissue on you chest, and being quite unable to turn off your curiosity, you glanced up at the door to make sure nobody was about to come in and very slowly moved a hand towards the two big lumps. Gingerly pushing a finger against one, and feeling it immediately begin to sink into the doughy softness that was now your chest. It being a sensation unlike any other you'd ever felt before. ...Holy shit! Feeling it from both ends this time. Unlike any in the past where you'd been fondling Allison's.
Before you could get too familiar (feeling something else new, crinkling and hardening on top), the door suddenly opened again and you immediately jerked your hand away and looked up. Praying whoever it was hadn't just seen what you'd been doing.
They hadn't. Thankfully. Watching the doctor from before, Dr. Saunders, walk in. Mid way through studying something on a clipboard.
"Tim," he greeted you with a smile. "Allison tells me you're awake."
"Uh... Yuh-yeah."
"Excellent news. Tell me, how are you feeling?"
Reiterating pretty much the same thing you'd told Allison, Dr. Saunders then began to ask you a serious of questions relating to your new form. Getting you to do a few simple little movements with your face and hands while he happily jotted the results down on his clipboard. Telling you once he was done, "Well, the good news is you've recovered perfectly from the operations, just as we thought, and to be honest, I really don't see any need to keep you in any longer."
"You mean I can go home?"
"Yes... Well, we need to have a discussion about that still," the doctor replied. His tone matching Allison's, when she had said the same. Serious, yet reluctant. As if it wasn't really a discussion either one of them wanted to have. "Best to wait till your parents get here though."
And so you did. It not taking long until the two of them piled in the door. The both of them looking slightly apprehensive at first, before your mother rushed to your side and threw her arms around you. Giving her sincerest apologies that things had to work out this way, while clearly being overjoyed that you were alive. Although you were glad to see them too, and gave your mother a big hug back, you also couldn't help but feel hugely uncomfortable yourself. Talking to them like this, in a dead woman's body. Technically now being older than your mom was. A fact that clearly wasn't lost on Allison, who hung back in the doorway. Watching this whole thing play out an obvious tear in her eye. Your mom might be glad to have you back, but her mom was gone. Only not... She was laying there before her with some else inside. Her own boyfriend. It really was too much!
Or at least, so you had thought. Before her father, Tony had arrived. Before he had looked upon the body of his dead wife, now sitting up and talking and appeared to be desperately trying to hold himself together. While Dr. Saunders meanwhile (now that everyone else was here), finally explained what both he and Allison had been so reluctant to earlier. Something that you really wished he hadn't.
