Scootaloo always looked up to Rainbow Dash. She desired to become just as fat as her, and had managed to overshoot Rainbow Dash's size. But Scootaloo wanted Rainbow Dash to be the fatter one, so she decided to carry over two dozen barrels of lard in her overwhelming rolls of fat, and Rainbow Dash proceeded to willingly ingest every single one. Scootaloo then continued to do this every single day so that Rainbow Dash would get even closer to becoming a massive immobile blob of fat. Scootaloo eventually started drinking a dozen barrels of lard a day herself, and was eventually fat enough to start carrying three dozen barrels to Rainbow Dash a day.
Lard wasn't the only thing that Rainbow Dash used to gain weight though. She constantly pigged out on desserts she gets from Pinkie Pie, as well as baked apple goods from Applejack. Almost everything Rainbow Dash ever did nowadays is eat, sleep, ingest lard, and get more food. It had gotten to the the point where she seemed to sweat lard. She had a hundred chins and finally fell through the floor of her own home, through the clouds, and she had to live on the ground from then on, no longer able to fly because of her own weight. She could still move, but it caused her to sweat enough to provide the town with rain for a day.
