"I'm sorry, spiders creep me out," he admitted. The spider god is not surprised. "For ages we have fought, you with superior size and we with venom, but that time is past. Neither of us gain from it, and even though we are different we should put our differences aside... Would the leaders of man agree to peace with the arachnid kingdom?"
"I... I don't know... I'm an explorer, I expected to research the writing on these walls and write a paper about ancient times... Not living beings," Brendan kept looking at the fat hair spider on his shoulder. It finally took the hint and climbed back up it's own web. The golden spider alter shifted and turned into a human sized woman with six arms and two human legs to stand on.
"Peace is never an easy road, but starts with the first step. If you KNEW spiders could cure the diseases of your kind, would humans THEN learn to respect us?" The spider queen still had eight eyes even though her shape was now roughly human to interact with Brendan. He appreciated the gesture.
"A cure for ailments would go a long way, I mean... We didn't know you could talk?" he insisted. The spider god was not surprised that humans still "fought" spiders away from their homes and used them for making spider silk. She made him an offering. "You can take me to the leaders of man, or bring a representative here," she offered. Knowing full well either way COULD lead to disaster.
