This choice: Attach it to someone else, then you can cut it off them to reattach it to you • Go Back...Chapter #5Attach it to someone else, then you can cut it ... by: Zerath   The shopkeeper coughed awkwardly before sighing, "You attach it to someone else, then you can cut it of them to then attack it to yourself again." You give him a perplexed look while your detached pinky continues to wriggle between your fingers. "I can see your confused. There's a reason that knife hadn't been sold yet. While you can swap to your heart's content with another person, attaching their parts to you and vice versa, reattaching a part to yourself is a little trickier. You can't actually place the part anywhere on yourself directly." He paused, running a finger along the grain of the blade. "The enchantment on the blade basically translates to "I do not want this anymore” and is the method by which it separates flesh from the body. You cannot return it normally, because you have, in essence, rejected it from your body. The only way to reattach it is to attach it to someone else then take it off them" Your eyes widen as understanding dawns.
"Uhuhm, but what about if-?" you start while looking at the counter before pressing your pinky to it, it stuck to it, and you still felt it.
He chuckled playfully as she shook his head no, "Worry not. The magic of the blade makes damage impossible, also only the person who put a body part on something inanimate, or someone holding the blade, can pluck them off" he then grabbed your disembodied pinky bent it sideways and dislocated each joint before pulling up hard, he did all that in a split second that produced a startled yelp from you. Panicked and wide-eyed you looked at him in horror as he grabbed the back of the Knife's blade and plucked the pinky from the desk. He looked into your eyes then placed your whole, intact pinky before your sight, then stuck it onto his wrist. you were perplexed while he pulled the knife gently from your grasp then cut the pinky off himself before handing it and the knife, handle first, to you.
You blush as you turn around away from the eyes of the mysterious man, You gasp, "Oh my god, it's like it was never chopped off in the first place!" you say as you turn back toward the shopkeep.
"Quite. Now, before you go I should note that there is a minor localized reality-altering effect that goes along with the blade. The wielder will notice all changes made as well as those who are aware of its nature and can see it. Others will believe any changes have always been as such. Also, so long as you hold the knife, people who are unaware of its nature will believe anything you do to them is acceptable." You thanked him profusely and left the magical emporium, ideas swelling in your mind as you left for...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
