Chapter #6

Steal Covering

Claire held her book over her crotch and clutched her beach bag to her chest. She stood there for a moment, turning on the spot, eyes darting nervously at all the people staring at her. She couldn't believe this was happening to her. Trying to hold back the tears, she began to run back up the beach, back towards her cabin. Her flip flops caught in the sand, but she was too embarrassed to stop and free them so she merely kicked them off her feet and continued running. The rough sand soon turned into hard wood, and she found herself back on the deck of her beach cabin. She dropped her book to the ground and with her free hand reached out and turned the handle.

The door was locked.

She looked around, desperate for somewhere to hide. On the decking there was a table and chair set which was bolted down, and there was also a barbeque a foot away from the cabin door. She ducked behind the barbeque, hiding herself from the beach as best she could.

"Okay, don't panic." she muttered to herself. "The key is in the bag. Just... oh wait. Oh no!"

It suddenly came flooding back to her. The front door was operated by a keypad while the back door was self-locking. She hadn't taken the key for it with her. She'd been planning to take a walk down to the pier, once she was finished sunbathing, and enjoy a nice drink before walking around to the front of her cabin and getting back in that way. There was no way to simply walk between the cabins to the front; they were packed closely together. She wasn't very familiar with the area, but as far as she knew that was the only way to get back into her house. Even worse; the front of the cabin opened up onto a road, and on the opposite side of the road was all sort of touristy-things; ice cream parlours, bars, souvenir shops, arcades... when she'd looked out of the window this morning it had been absolutely smothered in tourists.

Completely naked, she was going to have to walk down the beach, walk down the pier and walk down the busy high street to her front door.

"I need to steal something." she muttered.

She peeked over the barbeque. Thankfully nobody was looking her way now. They'd probably assumed that she'd gone back inside her cabin and had lost interest. She looked at the ground near to her cabin, and saw two items that might be of interest:

There was an abandoned SpongeBob towel lying in the sand, crumpled in a heap. It was hard to tell, but it looked just a little bit smaller than an adult towel.

There were also a matching pair of red rubber rings which Claire reckoned would just about fit over her chest and waist. It was slightly risky, however, as two children were sitting not very far away from it building a sandcastle; one boy and one girl. They had their backs to her, however, so they might not see if she was careful.

"What should I do?" Claire mused.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. The small towel

2. The rubber rings

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
