But who? Rebekah thought of each of her co-workers in turn, and considered in confiding in each one and trying to imagine what their reaction would be. Eventually she concluded that she didn't want to reveal the existence of the device to anyone outside of her own age group, which let out most of the team. The co-workers left were Laura, Charlotte and Mona. Becca and Luke were possibilities, but both were in their 20's, and Rebekah in the end ruled Luke out just because he was a guy.
At the first opportunity, which was the team's first 15 minute break, Rebekah made her decision and she pulled Mona to one side before she went upstairs. "Mona I need to talk to you." she said with a serious expression.
"Okay, what about?" the Iranian-born girl replied with a smile.
Rebekah sighed and just stared at Mona for a minute, wondering how crazy she would think she is. Despite this, she went and told her all about the device, and what it could to people. Mona was understandably skeptical and though Rebekah was pulling her leg. A few minutes after the conversation began Rebekah decided to show her, and so she grabbed Mona's hand and literally dragged her upstairs to the locker room. Once the device was out of the bag... literally... Mona began to wonder if what her friend was saying could be true.
"So... that thing swaps people's private parts?" Mona said, using a relatively childish term to describe genitals.
"Their genitals, yes!" Rebekah smirked.
"I suppose you've tested it out already?" Mona inquired, raising an eyebrow.
Rebekah nodded. "Yes, on a young couple outside my apartment earlier. It wasn't really evident on the guy, but it was on the girl." she explained, her level of excitement growing as she answered Mona's question.
"Care to stand at the tea room door and give me a demonstration?" Mona asked.
Rebekah knew what Mona meant. She wanted her to use it on two of her co-workers to prove that it worked. She was a little cautious about doing such a thing, but as long as she kept the 'Awareness' switch off she figured it would be okay. And she could always reverse the swap straight away in any case.
