"Oh, Christ..." a familiar voice gasped from the stairway. Liz, Donna, and Laura looked up from their new bodies to see Elizabeth, clearly distressed. She had every right to be, of course--her head was now atop the plump body of the new manager, Julie. "Donna... Laura... and, oh my God, Liz..." she hesitated, her eyes falling on the mismatched body Liz now possessed. "...This is really bad."
"Elizabeth, I'm guessing you don't know shit about this either?" Donna asked loudly, just like usual.
"No, I..." the former manager began. "I was with Julie, we were talking about you all, when all of a sudden we just... passed out. When I woke up I looked like this."
Liz asked, "Then, what happened to your body?"
"Well..."
"This is some serious BS!" came the ornery voice of Charlotte, one of the younger employees, as she trudged down the steps, trying to balance in Elizabeth's high heels. She'd lost four inches of height when she was swapped onto her old manager's body, and she'd also gained ten years of age, something she wasn't particularly thrilled about.
The five of them sat gathered around the Help Desk. Donna had confirmed that the swap was on a much grander scale than just their store, and Liz and Elizabeth began discussing how things would operate at Wilko from now on and whether or not they could find a way to undo the swap. Meanwhile, Charlotte tried to calm herself down so she could comfort her friend Laura, who was certainly worse off than herself, having aged 26 years when she swapped with Helen. They all ceased their banter when they saw Luke on his way back to the desk. Behind him was none other than Julie--whose head was now attached to Tiffany's body.
"Julie!" Elizabeth ran as fast as she could with her boss's out-of-shape body to greet its previous owner. "Are you alright?"
"Not anymore, I'm afraid," Julie said. "I thought I could pass this off as some kind of bad dream, but now that I'm staring at my own body I've got to accept that it's real."
Elizabeth gently embraced her boss, whom she had surprisingly grown rather fond of. "I'm just happy you're alright," she told her.
"Seems we've got a few more people now," Luke said, interrupting the two. "I'd really appreciate it if a couple of you would help me out. Still a little hard for me to get used to this, you know." He motioned to his body, now Becca's from the neck down.
Elizabeth, who had heard the plan from Liz, now relayed it to Julie. "I see," the manager said. "How about I head back to the office and put out an announcement? This store's pretty big, after all, so it might take a while to find everyone else." Everyone seemed to agree, and so Julie made her way back upstairs.
