While Lisa was reading she suddenly came across something that she didn’t understand. Thinking that it might be important to her class, plus the fact that she was naturally a curious person, compelled her to figure out what it was. So she went to the helpful catalog computer and searched for a book to help her out. As it turned out, there was only one such book, and it was in the basement of the library. So Lisa headed to the door that the staircase hid behind and started her decent.
Now, one thing to be said about the college library. It was old, over a hundred years old. It was one of those old buildings that had been built when the town was discovered and never torn down. Eventually the college bought it and turned it into a library. This is a partial explanation as to why when Lisa found herself in the dusty basement she was greeted to a dark room with exposed lightbulbs and rough stone walls. In fact the floor was also rough stone, as was the ceiling. Actually if she didn’t know any better she would have thought that she was in some sort of crazy mine with books in it.
Lisa quickly found the book she was looking for at the end of the room, the furthest shelf from the stairs. She grabbed the book and opened it. She was greeted with the dust and smell of old books.
The dust was so bad that it actually caused her to sneeze. It was at that point that several things happened. One: she dropped the book, two: she took an involuntary step back that caused her butt to bump into an old plaque on the wall. The plaque was pushed in slightly and there was an ominous click!
