The elf at the window

Tally could have sworn that voice had spoken to her! As if she didn't have the sense not to reveal and put Talen in danger, at least not more than he might already be. She would have to be more careful though as there were others with strong mindspeak who would not be so friendly. And Gaia, the earth goddess really needed their help. The land was in trouble and not from just the human battles but the ancient evil returning. They have to find the source and what humans are allied with it or all that is lovely here will perish.
The glen so far was safe and not allowing many visitors to find her. Only elf and fairy kind could wander in as long as they were in balance with the earth.
She and Talen, her half brother were sent to seek what information they could. She didn't like Talen's path--page to the king, for heaven's sake. Talk about being in the middle of things. He was a master of deception though, like an actor. He could pretend and masquerade. Likely a gift of being half elf. Magic was afoot the day he was born and all say he was special. Agelak the ancient seer even had a dream prophecy but their parents never told them exactly. Only that he would know in time. Umf! Some help that was.
Anyway , she always kept an eye on him when she could.
She preferred stealth and was lucky to be able to not be seen if she wanted and her mind speak and mind reading was potent. She could even whisper to the winds and animals and right now she felt the earth's anguish growing. They had to hurry.
She jumped down from her window perch and oomf! bumped right into Talen.

"Tally, really! what are you doing here near the castle. If anyone sees..." Talen shook his head. "I need to get going before the king changes his mind."
"Sorry, I just wanted to check in. You know I don't like you being in that castle. Anyway no one saw me ,,exactly."

"What do you mean?"

"Well I was watching you with the Keeper and...after you left he mindspoke--I am sure it was to me. I didn't expect that from castle folk but he is more, isn't he?"

"Yes, and I believe a good soul and on the path with us. It felt like we were meant to meet. Something is happening here and on other planes....we must follow the energy and steps as come to us." he ruffled her hair, blond like his own but curly.

She looked up at him with eyes as blue as his.. "You are right and allies come as boons. So you are all set. I can come.."

"no, you can't be seen with me, you know that" he sighed. "This is mine to do. You have another path. We will be gathering soon enough but now we must seek and find."

"I know. I just needed to check on you. It is a hard habit to break after all these years." she stood straighter and took a breath.
" Right , so off you go and be careful. I am off as well. I have a calling to go to the Old Oak in Trevalon valley. I have not heard from him in some time."

"Ok. have you your amulet.?"

"Of course, how do you think I found you? " she laughed. Sometimes her brother was out there!

"Good, now be off." he turned and sauntered down the path as if he had all the time in the world. She smiled and disappeared into the rising mist.

Snarg watched them go from the top of the rock face near the forest path that ran down from the castle. His master would have to know about this.
