The Dance sung by Lee Ann Womak

As the night song faded and dawn rose, a new song began. The daylight muse awoke the one who sleeps---will she choose to wake and dance, or sit out? The choice is always there.


Moving, drifting elusive thought, clouded horizon
Sleep still echoes call to deep
Now, seek nourishment and the wonder of the day
to enjoy time free, without need,
to rehabilitate and reach soul spaces
clear cluttered rooms,
gather strength of being.

Time, a friend
Me being kind to me. Reflect.
Open the channel,
tame the beasts who sally forth
vying for a leading role.
Take reins, enjoying each offering.

Discipline creates order
and direction rises from the mists
or light reveals an open gate,
a small aperture.

Be quick
before it fades to oblivion once more
Guide the chariot , swift winged
to discovery.

Part 2

Chant your song, the mystic words of your uncovering,
the way of your secret heart
of foundling, orphaned.
Gather to your bosom all
the faces of your delving,
each needed to foray in the forest of inner life
along the many winding tangled paths
to groves of wonder.

Explore a never ending prismed maze.
Rise higher as deeper you descend.
You, your Oneself, are there;
the answer to your quest,
immemorial, primordial
living stone
awaits harvest.
Tap.
Do not be counted out
in the great scheme of universe.
Do not settle for less than
who you truly are
becoming.
Let all you dare meet
assist and guide.
Be your strength, your will , your hope
that stranger in a strange land
will feel at home
as you have come home
to yourself.
