Back at Hooves Spread for a shin dig-

As the music and laughter streamed from the celebration in the Stark family homestead, Hooves decided the animals in the farmyard would have their own shin-dig in the barn.

*Music1*The proud heifers bowed to the maiden cows
and began a square dance ‘ round the corral
With a swing your partner and a dos- si-dos
As geese and turkeys danced the cotton-eyed joe!

The old hound howled, as his dancing was inept.
Stallions pranced to show off in the high two step
Turning in circles kicking high and low,
As geese and turkeys danced the cotton-eyed joe!

As hogs and sows spun in jigs and reels,
In the mud pit you could hear the piglet squeals.
Tom cats strutted with females in tow
As geese and turkeys danced the cotton-eyed joe!

The nanny goats polkad as the donkeys brayed
Ponies trotted and slid in a line dance parade.
Chickens danced the funky chicken in a row
As geese and turkeys danced the cotton-eyed joe!

The donkeys joined in later and kicked their heels,
unable to resist the tune of St. Anne’s Reels.
Small mice hipped their partners as away they go
And geese and turkeys danced the cotton-eyed joe!

The shindig continued til the Stark house slept.
Thank goodness that rooster , for the time he kept.
Everyone was happy and bedded down low
When , too early, rooster had to add his CROOWWW!
He was peeved he missed the cotton-eyed joe! *Music2*

Hooves was very content as the dance was a great success and much needed after all of the stress of the last year. A chance to celebrate with her human family was welcome.
