Like any five-year old Ellen established for Doug an eight o'clock bed time. Tonight, Doug would sleep with Ellen but tomorrow arrangements would be made for Doug to sleep in Maggy's room instead. Ellen led Doug into the bedroom, put him in pajamas and told him it was time to go to sleep. It was pretty uneventful.
The next day, Ellen took Doug shopping for all that he would need for his new life as a five-year old girl. She ordered him a bed and bought the proper juvenile bedsheets and comforter. She bought some toys and stuffed animals. Clothing was hard. She needed to buy the right styles for a five year-old but for Doug's adult body. Shoes was the easiest, there were plenty of maryjanes in all sizes, she also bought him some fuzzy bunny slippers. Getting things like cute socks and white tights in his size was also pretty simple as were plain panties. The harder thing was the pants, shirts and dresses. But if you were selective and took your time you could find what you wanted, mostly in the plus size girl sections.
When shopping was done you arranged for Doug to sleep over two days at Andrea's house. You wanted Doug to be immersed in the culture of five-year old girls and 48 hours with Gloria would fit the bill. You specifically put into Doug's head to notice which words that Gloria uses and how she puts words together. Doug not only learned to play, but all the things that little girls did over that time, including how to whine to get what she wants.
When Doug returned home, his impersonation of a little girl was now flawless. He had every mannerism and inflection in his voice. He even started talking in a higher register than he used to. Doug was moved into Maggy's room over the objections of Maggy herself. His drawers were filled with new clothing and his shelves were filled with toys, stuffed animals and dolls.
The next day, you watched Doug play for hours on the floor in the living room. He was just like a little girl. Wearing just girlie pajamas, Doug would play with his stuffed toys. He came up with adventures for them and himself. He would talk to the stuffed toys and then mimic them talking back to him. It was just so cute. Gloria was in kindergarten during the day, so Doug had to play alone. But he didn't mind. You wished you could send him to kindergarten too, but it was impossible. You couldn't manipulate the minds of every student and teacher and staff and the parents of the teachers and anyone else who would notice.
