Huge, massive spoilers for Spirit of Justice herein, be advised
The corrupt queen of the Kingdom of Khura'in might have lacked in innate spiritual powers, but a recent discovery of hers had changed her outlook.
Ga'ran examined the prisoner she had contained in a small jar in her personal chambers. He was a repeat offender -- a thief who wasn't afraid to resort to physical violence to get what he wanted. He hadn't gone as far as killing anyone yet, but, well...
Actually, he didn't look like he'd be doing much of anything for a while, if Ga'ran felt like doing anything about it.
She was dressed in her prosecutor's attire, and she suspected that the more overtly intimidating air she knew herself to give off in such an outfit was probably in part responsible for the utterly terrified state of her captive.
That, and the fact that she'd demonstrated her ability to alter a person's size at will on him personally. The prisoner was a mere two inches tall at the moment, so his terror was quite believable.
Ga'ran smiled darkly at her captive, but she didn't really have time to play with him at the moment. She stowed the jar he was held in away on a shelf and crossed her grand bedroom. Stepping out the door, she called out to the pair of royal guards stationed down the hall.
"We are ready." she said. "You may send them in."
The two guards made haste to send for the "delivery" Ga'ran was expecting -- a few more people she'd recently demonstrated her newfound powers on.
When the guards returned, one of them carrying a small box which Ga'ran knew would contain her new captives, she smiled and accepted the offering, returning to her room and closing the doors behind her.
She strode to her immaculately-decorated bed and set the box down, placing her hand over its ornate lid and considering opening it to examine her prize.
