As the squad was taking in their victory Kaidan noticed that something was off, he was nothing a pulsing light in the corner of his eye. As he looked over he saw tat the light was coming from the device that they had just stolen from those rogue collectors. Kaidan nudged James who then turned towards Kaidan. "What's the matter-" Before James could even finish his sentence he saw that the something pulsing out of the corner of his eye, looking down to see that it was coming from the device, James exchanged a worried glance at Kaidan then to his squad who's excitement had changed to concern. James froze not sure what to do in the situation that he was put in. "James get rid of it" Kaidan shouted at him. James snapped out of his frozen state and was just about to chuck the relic away till a blinding flash of light consumed the area he and his squad were in. James and his squad flinched from the blinding light till it finally faded away, he and his squad looked around expecting something to be different but other than the light everything else seemed to be the same, and the light within the artifact that they had found had now gone dim. The squad all exchanged glances with each other not sure what do to now, puzzled and confused about what had just occurred to them. "What was that?" Kaidan asked.
James just shrugged. "To be honest I'm not actually sure what that was, but it seems like we are all right." Trying to ease everyone's concerns.
"I don't know, we aren't even sure what that artifact even does, maybe we should report to Dr. Chakwas, just to make sure that everything is okay" Kaidan said.
James nodded yeah you're probably right, why don't we stop by medbay and have her check us out"
