"Oh."
Frisk's understated reaction was the result of his total shock at what met his vision once he could see again.
Alphys' lab was suddenly looking a lot bigger.
It seemed that the large machine was some kind of shrink ray. Somehow, Frisk wasn't surprised that Alphys had designed something like that.
It was, however, a bit of a problem for him.
He was tiny. Every last piece of equipment around seemed to stand miles over him now. He put his size at a few inches, based on the nearest chair's height. Not good.
Did the machine have a reverse function? Maybe he'd know if he'd been able to look at it properly. He took half a step, but stopped. What if it went off again? It could make him even smaller, and then he'd really be in a bad position. He tried to think back to the last time he'd made a SAVE.
Come to think of it, he hadn't yet today. He groaned. So, he could either try and get back to normal, or reverse time all the way to some point yesterday.
"No way but forward..." he grumbled.
A distant echo caught his attention. He turned.
Far off, the front door was opening. He felt a spring of hope, wondering if it might be Alphys. She could find and help him easily.
The hope faded as he watched Undyne enter.
The tall fish monster was one of his best friends, for sure, but not the one he needed right now.
Undyne was wearing her usual slack work attire, as she often did when working as the gym teacher at the nearby human-monster school.
Frisk noticed that she didn't call out for Alphys as she came in, so she must've known that her girlfriend wouldn't be home right now.
Undyne's sneakers hit the floor with a powerful boom that only got stronger as she approached. Frisk considered his options.
