Meekins was at his post at the police department and Meekins was having a bad day, but what else was new? He was practically a magnet for bad luck with how often bad things would happen to him; Getting his clothing stuck in doors, mixing up important police documents, the list of bad luck and mistakes just went on and on. That combined with how often he used his megaphone made him one of the most unliked and laughed at officers working here. Sometimes he wished he was more confident and likable, like his hero, Detective Dick Gumshoe.
As Meekins was daydreaming, he noticed that their was a package at his post. Strange, why would a package be delivered here? He looked at it some more and saw that it was addressed to him. Thinking that thinking about the package wouldn't get him anywhere, he decided to open the package right now and find out what was in it. To his surprise, what was in the package was some kind of remote and a manual. After a quick read through, Meekins found out that this was some kind of 'Body Swap' Remote. While Meekins was a bit skeptical about it, he chose to believe it was real. After all, who would send him some fake remote for no reason.
The question now was, who to try it on. The first thing to come to mind was to use it on someone else at the police department.There were plenty of different people here, both police officers and people of other occupations, he could use this remote to become any of them. Plus, If he swapped with someone here, then he could easily come back and get his own body back later.
The second thing that came to mind was to share the remote with his hero, Detective Dick Gumshoe. While Meekins was sure that if he shared it with anyone else they would laugh it off and not believe him, but he had confidence that Gumshoe would believe him. Plus. he was sure that Gumshoe would use it more responsibly than he would.
Meekins took his time and thought the choice over carefully, after a while he eventually came to the conclusion that he should...........
