Chapter #6

You Guys Must be new to Abercrombie!

"Go all out?" Seth said again, as if they'd told a funny joke, "Clearly you're new to Abercrombie!"

"That was normal for us!" Tess added lightheartedly, her great chest and meaty stomach wobbling as she laughed.

As the two Abercrombians chuckled to themselves, the transplanted couple in the room felt themselves grow faint. This was normal for them? Sure that explained their size, Alice thought to herself, but how could eating that much be an everyday occurrence for them? Surely, Zack paled at the thought, they were exaggerating. They definitely ate well, judging by their respective and collective rotundity, but eating all that more than once a week? Once a month? There was no way!

Seemingly oblivious, even as Alice's heart dropped and Zack's stomach turned, the other couple continued on in conversation without much of a second thought. There hadn't been much of it while everyone had been stuffing their faces, so perhaps they felt obligated to make small-talk while Alice and Zack picked themselves off the floor.

"I'm glad you liked it." Tess said finally, her three chins flexing and rolling as she spoke, "Seth and I eat in all the time."

"You kind've have to when you're in college, am I right?" Seth seemed to miss the irony in a man of his size preaching about moderation, even as he stroked the great swell of his beanbag-sized belly "It's just so expensive when we go out; y'know?"

"But we always make plenty." Tess quickly added, taking a sip from her glass, "You guys are more than welcome to join us any time you'd like!"

There was no question as to whether or not Tess meant it, and it was sweet to offer. But all Zack and Alice could do was look at each other like Tess had just stomped on all of their toes with her every one of her hippy pounds. They were both so full, neither was honestly comfortable even thinking about eating, ever again! But here these two were, chatting it up politely and talking about dinner down the road!

"Th-Thank you." Alice's cordiality won out over her initial shock as she cradled her swollen stomach, "I, um... We appreciate the offer."

"But we're both usually super busy." Zack burped, "I mean with work—"

"—A-And with school!" Alice nodded appreciatively of Zack's quick thinking, "Sometimes we both just forget to eat!"

At this, their host couple made a collective face. Not anything ugly, or that they had said something that offended them somehow. It was more like Alice had just suddenly started speaking Chinese halfway through her sentence. "Forgetting to eat" was clearly a foreign concept in this household, as evidenced by Seth and Tess' floor-bending figures.

"Well you better get rid of that attitude real quick!" Seth said with a belly-laugh, his jowls quivering jovially, "There's all kinds of awesome places to eat—especially around campus! You're at ASU, right?"

Alice gulped as she envisioned all the awful temptations that she was going to have to face if she ever wanted to maintain her figure.

"Oh there's this neat little sub shop that opened up right off the exit!" Tess interjected excitedly, gesticulating with her calf-sized arms behind her pumpkin-sized melons, "We should totally take you guys!"

"N-Now?" Zack asked nervously

"Easy there guy, I was talking about when school starts up!" Seth snorted, leaning over ever so slightly to resituate himself in his seat, the curve of his belly dipping against Zack's knee, "But hey, if you're up for it, there's a great pizza place that we haven't scared off yet."

Now it was Zack's turn to pale, rather green, as he imagined eating just one slice of pizza, and piling it on top of what he'd already shoveled down.

"Thank you... a lot... buuuuut I really think we should get going." Alice rocked herself to a standing position with a grunt, "It's getting late and, uh... Zack's got work in the morning."

"I do." Zack nodded eagerly as his girlfriend helped heave him up, "Y'know, early bird. Worms."

And it was late, or at least getting there. Zack and Alice had almost quite literally eaten the time away dining with Seth and Tess. For what it was worth, Zack really did have to get to work in the morning. Sure Alice didn't exactly have an excuse, but it was just easier to piggyback on her boyfriend. They were a couple, right? It was okay to leave together. Especially when they were feeling more full than they had in months... maybe years, and their hosts were talking very casually about finding even more food to eat!

"Well maybe we'll see you around!" Seth said with a friendly smile, "You work for that hotel in town, right?"

"Uh... yeah!" Zack stalled, smiling in a way that he hoped was friendly, "The Hammond. Why?"

"There's an awesome little bookshop in downtown. Great coffee." His smile was much more genuine, "If you're not busy tomorrow, you want to grab lunch?"

Oh god, there he went again talking about more food. Zack had to practically button his mouth shut. Any more talk about anything gastronomical was bound to make him either toss his cookies or pop like an overstuffed tick.

"We'll, uh... we'll see." Zack said with a nod, "Thanks again for dinner guys."

"It was great." Alice wasn't lying, but she may as well have been. All this food... it was just too much!

They found more success as they slowly inched themselves towards the door. Seth and Tess content to wave them out, rather than rise from their clearly comfortable positions. Alice and Zack wondered, for a moment, if they even could. Being so full and fat like that... there was no way they were going to be able to follow them out, was there?

"Buh-bye!" Tess announced as she picked up the phone, probably to make good on that offer of pizza Seth laid out earlier, "Don't be strangers!"

"Later guys!" Seth raised a hand in farewell, "Let's do this again sometime!"
