Mom modified your jeans.

The night before you went to bed, while you were up in your room playing fortnite, Mom was downstairs doing laundry.
She put all of the dirty clothes through the witch wash affecting much more of their wardrobes. While she was pulling out a pair of your jeans she noticed a big tear on the back pocket. "That John needs to stop hopping fences and be more careful with his clothes. I'm tired of buying new ones." She said to herself. She wasn't about to throw these ones out over a ripped back pocket.
She took the rest of the freshly dried clothes out of the dryer and pulled out a pair of her own jeans. These ones she had owned for years and were beginning to wear out with age. She got a pair of scissors and carefully cut a square out of her old worn out jeans. She then cut out your ripped pocket and sewed the new piece on in its place. She stood back and stared proudly at her work. She had to admit these didn't look like they had been repaired! She was able to sew the piece from her old jeans on to yours nicely.
Mom puts your clothes in a separate basket and leave it in front of your door. The next morning you woke up late and found the basket and quickly threw on the modified jeans.
You originally planned to experiment with the socks later, but little did you know you were unwillingly about to go through another.
