Once in town, he goes straight to the weirdo’s house. Mmhmm. That sounds safe.You sound safe. Can you blame him? It’s heavy! He’s overjoyed at seeing Gray and—even more so—his treasure. He retrieves the key from a desk drawer and opens it. Inside, there are a few jade statues. The man says to Gray, “Thank you son. I’ll be back with your payment in a second. I keep it in the back. In the meantime, you can pick one of the statues if you want. I don’t want or need them all. Just...this one in particular,” he says, pulling one shaped like a key out, “and any three more. Since there’s an extra, take your pick.” He runs off into the next room.
Gray looks at the statues. Two of them are hard to see and worn from the times, but one he recognizes is a roaring dragon, and the other a weeping Exceed. As much as Gray hated to see Exceeds cry, he decides to take it because he doesn’t want Natsu to see the dragon as appeasement for him. He was enough of an airhead already.
The man emerged from the room with a pile of Jewel in hand. “Here you go. 2,500 Jewel. Ah, I see you went for that one! I was hoping you would—I find it awfully depressing.”
“Yeah, whatever.”
“Well, here you go then!” He passes the Jewel Haha Puff Puff Pass.Be mature for once, would ya? to Gray. “Have a nice one, it was pleasure doing business with you!”
“And to you. Bye,” Gray said, promptly leaving.
