You're ankle-deep into the strange-smelling mud as it stirs beneath your feet. You take a few steps back and grip your club tightly as you watch the mud shift and bubble. Right before your eyes, the mud raises from the ground! A huge mound of it, maybe eight feet tall, shifts around. First, two arms stick out of the form, then it shapes two legs, each ending with five-toed feet. Finally, a chest and head forms, revealing its true form: a golem! Golems aren't technically "monsters," but rather, nonliving constructs, usually made from ordinary material such as stone or clay. Powerful magic users often create these beings for manual labor, running errands, or in cases such as these, defending an area from interlopers. You can only assume there's a magically adept monster boy nearby who created this, no human mage would ever leave their creation in a monster boy's territory.
The golem boy looks at you... and kicks out with one big foot! He's much too far away to hit you, but it seems that wasn't his goal. Instead, slime rains from the foot and all over your body, coating you with footmud! It smells just as foul as your environment, and it seeps into your clothes. It'll take forever to get this out...
