Lewis stood on his tip toes to inch his way up, hoping it would make a big difference in his height. He placed the pencil against his head as he stood on his toes, ready to make the mark. As he slid the pencil against the wall, he was beginning to lose his balance. The minute he finished making a line, he fell over slightly but managed to keep himself in balance.
"Whew, that was close," he said as he composed himself, "Let's see if we made a difference."
Looking at the mark, he saw it was a tad scraggly than before. But when he saw his old height at 4 foot 2 inches and then the new mark, he saw a noticeable difference; 4 foot 5 inches. To make sure he reached that height, he grabbed a ruler and placed it on his head, making sure his height matched the mark. As he stood still, he saw that it was true. Even if it was a small mark, it proved to make a big change on himself.
"I did grow," he exclaimed with excitement, "I AM TALLER!"
Lewis danced around the room with so much glee, he was that happy. This was the best thing to ever happen to him and he certainly felt elated. Then he looked back at the marks on the wall and began to think. If he could grow just by a single mark above his head, is there any sort of limit to his growth? Can he grow higher than that? And more importantly, can he grow more than once? He had to find out...
