Despite feeling a bit down by his small size in general, Lewis tends to forget about it at this point and heads into the mall with his mother for a weekend day out. Of course Mom is very supportive to her young son, and his ambitious goal, but she knows there’s plenty of things that can happen, but for a couple of years to say the least.
But she felt sorry for Lewis so much, that she wanted to cheer him out by going out they usually go to every now and then. Something they get to spend some time together when not in school or any matter of cases. The mall is the biggest place in town, and so much so that there are tons of shopping stores, and food courts for the visitors to check and browse it in.
Of course both of them are heading to dinner which is Lewis’ favourite place to go, since he didn’t have a taste of shopping if browsing it for too long. They were going through the concourse when they saw The Showman standing on the stage, and tells everybody of this very magic item he’s brought over to the mall.
“Alright, ladies and gentlemen, step right up and experience the magic that is really real! This is the pencil!” The Showman yells and shows everyone the pencil, which most of them doesn’t seem to be bother by it. “Now it may be just an ordinary pencil, but it’s not! That’s because when I measure this higher than any person standing under it, that causes a human to grow taller right on the mark!”
That’s when Lewis’ eyes lit up, when he heard about this special pencil and how it works. He could only imagine feeling much taller with that item, and it has been his wildest dream to be able to look down on anyone, rather than looking up. With that in mind, he asked his mother if he could give it a try, to which she agree with a wide smile. A very excited looking, eight year old wasted no time but to head up to The Showman on stage, and took a brave move by counting himself in.
“Excuse me sir, but I would like to have a go with that pencil of yours, if that’s okay with you?” Lewis wondered with excitement in his face.
“Sure there, kiddo! Why don’t you stand by the wall, and I’l mark you when you’re ready?” The showman responded with a nod, and asked by pointing at the wall by the middle.
Lewis nodded afterwards, and guess over to stand by the wall, which he can see the height chart being in place. He knew he stands at 4’3, but when he see’s the names of the people or a large animal being that tall, it made feeling surprised by that, and it caused himself to be obsessed of maybe match up to its sizes, whatever he feels like it.
It would take a while to have a look, until he saw The Showman came closer with a pencil, and Lewis begins to stand by the wall against his back.
“Now, how tall would you like to try it out, kid?” The Showman asked with a smile.
“Well...” Lewis begins to make some response before he tells The Showman what he wants with a confident look to his face. “I wanna be as tall as...
