Despite your best judgments, you'd just think the thing is to gosh darn cute to spook off & you feel some sorta bond with the critter over those restrictions your father put over both of you, so why not help 'em out in getting a good meal? It's not like your parents are gonna find out... With decisions made up, you'd quietly lower your posture down to your knees to come off as less threatening & would try catching his attention in your softest tone, "Hey lil' guy, would you like me t-," is all you got out as you share a scare with it do to it's sudden shrill bark in reaction to your presence.
After regaining some composer, it would seem the pudgy foxy hadn't decided to scamper off yet, so maybe you still had a chance at feeding the thing. Being as gentle & slow as you possibly could be, you'd reach into the berry bush beside you & would pull out one of those berries it wanted so badly & held the thing out towards the fox as offering, "here, it's all yours, I don't want to hurt you," you'd add to your gesture. Eventually after a load of uneasy sniffs towards you to assess the situation & tell if your threat or not, the fluffball would finally give in & snatch-up the sweet berry right outta your hand with a little tail wag. With it seemingly dociled down & eager for more treats, you'd continue gathering from the same bush besides you, poping one berry into your mouth before offering the fox yet another over & over again.
Eventually while sharing your harvest, the fox would eventually let out some cooing esc. sound towards you as it warmly crawled up onto your lap & curled up almost like some sorta house cat. You were absolutely enthralled by the tubby fox's utter cuteness, which it was more then happy to give into as it only got more from you as you continued along. Eventually, you'd relize that you had picked the berry bush clean & ... something was off...
