Afraid of dropping her tiny boyfriend, Chie held Yu against his chest. Her fingers tightly wrapped around him, making sure her precious cargo was safe. The rest of her attention was focused on getting out of the neighborhood. Her steps, while careful, still ravaged the ground below her. That didn’t do anything to ease her tension. At the very least, she had her boyfriend with her.
Her footsteps resounded across the sleepy town. Panicked screams came from below as people ran away from the giantess. That also threw a few blows to her self esteem. However, she was more focused on getting out of town without killing anyone.
The giant girl followed the river, thankful for the larger pathways it provided. It seemed people figured out her path and stayed far away from the flood plains. Her destination was also clear: the woods outside the town. She picked up her pace, wanting to get out of the public eye as soon as possible.
As she stepped into the forest, she found herself a bit disappointed to find out that the tallest of the trees came up to her waist. She took a seat at the base of the hill, using her legs to clear up a space for her to sit.
Releasing her grip on her tiny boyfriend, Chie set Yu on the top of her left knee before hugging her legs.
“Chie,” Yu called. “You okay?”
Chie shook her head. "I don't really know what to make of this…”
Yu let out a soft sigh and smiled. "It'll be alright. All we have to do is find Marie-chan. It's not like she's going to disappear or anything."
Chie recalled Marie saying something about not sticking around any longer. She breathed deeply. "Maybe we should find her sooner than later."
Yu nodded. He dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone. "I'll call the others and ask them to track down Marie-chan."
"Okay," Chie hummed, feeling the tension ease slightly from her shoulders.
Yu slowly stood back up and walked over to the edge of the giantess’ knee. He scanned the slope of her leg, and with one reckless step, he slid down her shin and onto her ankle, stopped by the tongue of her sneakers. He jumped off from there, landing on the floor. He decided to walk a bit away from his girlfriend, deciding to have a more private conversation. Scrolling through his list of contacts, Yu figured that he should call Kanji back.
“Yo, Senpai,” Kanji said, picking up the phone.
“Hey,” Yu responded. “Chie and I are fine. We’re somewhere private.”
“That’s good,” he said.
“Can you try and round up the gang?” Yu asked, leaning against a tree. “I need to stay here to keep Chie company.”
“We’re right ahead of ya, Partner,” Yosuke said. “You’ve been on speaker this whole call.”
Yu nodded. “Oh, good.”
“Is Chie-senpai, okay!?” asked Rise. “She looked kind of freaked out when she was walking through town.”
“She’s fine,” Yu answered. “She’s… trying to adjust.” He paused for a moment. “Would it be too much to ask for you guys to come over here. It wouldn’t hurt to have you all here to support her.”
“We don’t mind,” Naoto responded.
In the background, Yu could make out Teddie speaking. “Oh boy, I can’t wait to feast my eyes on Chie-chan!”
Yu pinched his nose. “I hate to ask this, but can you and Yosuke go on a lookout for Marie? Take Teddie with you.”
“Of course, Senpai,” Naoto answered, knowing exactly why her friend and leader set up the group.

Yu joined his girlfriend again, who seemed to be trying to rest her head against the slope of the hill. “Hey, Chie.”
Chie waved sheepishly. “H-hey.”
“We’ll get through this,” Yu reassured. “Once they find Marie we can find out what she gave you.” He figured that he could slip away and talk to Igor and Margaret in the Velvet Room once the support group arrived. Surely either one of them might have a clue as to what was going on. But for now, he would have to keep his giant-sized girlfriend company.
Chie held her hand out. Yu climbed aboard, making sure he held onto one of her fingers as she brought him closer to her face.
“You know…” she began, a smile finally showing itself. “You’re kinda cute like this.”
Yu laughed. “I wasn’t before?”
“Fine, you’re cuter now,” Chie corrected. “Maybe we can try something while we’re alone…?”
Yu couldn’t help but feel this was strange but enticing way to break up the monotony of the past month.
