This choice: Emma tries to find her daughter. • Go Back...Chapter #10Emma tries to find her daughter. by: Saracen1187 It didn't take long for Emma to notice that her curious daughter had gone walkabouts, which tended to annoy her a little. "Where is that girl now?" She mumbled, before turning back to Elizabeth. "Keep an eye on things here, and if anything changes give me a shout on the tannoy okay."
"Sure thing love." Elizabeth nodded, as she and Emma's husband continued trying to find a way out of the store, or even a way to see through the windows. An uneasy feeling had already begun to fall on everyone in the store however. Nothing major, just a niggling feeling that something was about to happen.
"Steven, have you seen my daughter?" Emma asked her bespectacled employee.
Steven smiled at his manager, who was of course dressed in casual clothes since she hadn't been working. Emma's outfit consisted of a lilac-colored blouse, a pair of dark red slacks and ballet flats to match her blouse. It was quite an endearing outfit. "Er, a short while ago yeah, she went that way I think." He said, pointing in a direction.
"Yeah, I saw her turn left at the end of the aisle." David added, having overheard Emma's question.
"Thanks guys." Emma smiled.
"She's a credit to you by the way, a lovely girl." Steven complimented Emma
Emma stood with her hands on hips briefly, smiling. "Why thank you, I appreciate that." She mumbled. "Well, don't let me interrupt your work boys." She then said, before starting to walk down the aisle.
"Brown nose!" David whispered into Steven's ear, making him laugh.
"Back to work, newbie!" Steven joked, nudging David.
Emma meanwhile, reached the end of Steven and David's aisle and looked both ways, before turning left. The store wasn't that big, but finding someone specific always tended to be more difficult than it should be, Emma had noticed since taking over as manager.
