The day started out so well for Flash Sentry until he visited Sci-Twi's place. He was expecting them to share a nice afternoon together at the mall, but instead, the violet-haired genius gave him quite a surprise when she used him as a guinea pig for her latest scientific experiment.
Reluctantly, Flash decided to let Sci-Twi test her device on him with Twilight assuring him it was perfectly safe, which he highly doubted. Twilight had just fired a beam from her ray gun-like device at Flash's body, engulfing his body in an aura of bright blue energy. As Flash succumbed to the ray's blast, he was stricken with a tingling sensation that made him dizzy and disoriented.
"Yes! It's working!" Sci-Twi said excitedly. She watched with anticipation as the beam was beginning to affect Flash. Sci-Twi wasn't sure what it would do to him, but she definitely didn't expect what happened next.
Flash felt his consciousness fleeting as the beam was beginning to dissipate. This was the moment when Sci-Twi would see what kind of effect it would have on the blue-haired guitarist.
"Here it comes. And...!" To Twilight's surprise, Flash looked like he was starting to get shorter. Before she knew what happened next, there was a sudden flash of light that made her avert her gaze.
Once the light faded, the ray's beam finally dissipated into nothing as the machine powered down. When it was over, Twilight opened her eyes and lifted her goggles, smiling with excitement as she was about to see what her machine did to Flash.
"Huh? What the?!" To her shock, Sci-Twi looked to where Flash Sentry was standing only to find absolutely nothing in that spot.
As a result of Sci-Twi's experiment, Flash Sentry had completely disappeared from her sight leaving nothing but a puff of smoke in that very spot. She walked over there wondering what could've happened to him. "Where did Flash go?!"
While Sci-Twi tried to find where her test subject disappeared to, Flash's mind was a blank slate with no idea of what happened to him. He felt like he was drifting in an empty void with no feeling in his whole body until he felt his consciousness returning.
As his mind slowly recovered from the tingling sensation of the laser beam, Flash got some feeling back and began to wake up. Opening his eyes, his vision came back as he calmly lifted himself up and shook the dizziness off.
"Oh, my head." Flash groaned, shaking his head. "I can't believe Twilight used me as a guinea pig for something like that. I thought we were friends."
Flash soon stood up and got his bearings back as he looked over himself to see if Twilight's machine did anything strange to him. "Okay. I'm all better now. And it looks like I'm still normal. I guess I'm all right."
"I just hope Twilight doesn't-" At that moment, his train of thought was instantly interrupted once he looked at his new surroundings.
"Wait a minute. Where am I?" Looking around in confusion, Flash realized he was no longer in Sci-Twi's lab. But that wasn't the only thing about this new location that took him by surprise.
"This definitely isn't Twilight's lab. What is this place? And why is everything so... so... BIG?!"
Taking in his surroundings, Flash grew scared once he saw that everything around him looked a lot bigger than it should. He was in some other location in town with everything dominating him in size. As his mind began to take it all in, it quickly became clear what Sci-Twi's ray did to him.
"I don't believe it! Twilight's machine must've teleported me to this place. Not only that, it shrunk me! I SHRUNK!" Flash screamed.
It was just as Flash feared. Sci-Twi's machine transported him to another place in the town of Canterlot while also shrinking him to what he could only assume was at least 1 or 2 inches in height. The only question now is, where did Sci-Twi's machine teleport him to in his diminished state?
