“So Mr Adams have you read the terms of our agreement yes?”
These words echoed through John as he sat in the office of Genentech. One of the worlds largest technology breakthrough companies in terms of medical advances.
John was a down on his luck 21 year old recent college grad. After college John thought the world was going to be his. Job offers left and right, easy access to live the kind of life he always wanted. However after 6 months he quickly discovered the truth....He had no job, no money, and if he didn’t make his rent payment this month, no where to sleep. Desperation kicked in and he applied for any job he could get until one day he got this strange call from Genetech.
“So Mr. Adams? Do you understand the deal?” The Corperate executive.
“You....you want me to turn into a girl?” He asked not believing this deal.
“Just temporary...You are going to be the prototype experiment for our new gender reversal drug. Think about it like this. There are millions of people in the word not comfortable in their own skin. They seek out expensive hormones treatments and surgery to try and become the person they want to be. Now those days are behind us. With this new drug people can truly become the person they want to be. It can change the world!” The executive said to him.
“I...mean I understand that. I’m all down for people being who they want...but why me? I’m just a normal straight white guy. Why not pick someone who is actually seeking to change their gender?” John asked.
“Because...there is too much conflict of interest in someone like that right now. The risk of them exposing the drug to others or revealing it is too great. We need a neutral third party. A plain average person like yourself to test it on.” He replied.
“Soo....You said this is temporary right?” John asked.
“Yes. This is a 60 day trial. The transformation process itself lasts about a week. Then we will see how your body adjusts over the next two months. Once we have enough data we will begin the reversal process to return you back to normal.” The executive said.
“So I just have to be a girl for a couple months?” John asked.
“Well...in a way. Your job will be to video record all your changes and discuss your body and feelings every morning right after you wake up. We need to see and hear everything. From how the changes have progressed to any potential side effects, mood swings, etc. You do this and we agree to pay you $100,000 dollars at the end of the experiment as well as cover all your living costs during the trial itself.” He said.
That was more money than John had ever had in his life....what could it hurt right? He always wondered what it was like as a girl sometimes anyway. What is the worst that could happen.
“Alright....I agree.” John said as he signed heir contract.
“Excellent...A laptop with video equipment will be delivered to your apartment by the end of the day along with the box of pills. You are to take ONE every night right before bed. Only ONE, do you understand?” He asked.
“I understand. A pill a night and a short vlog every morning to go over myself and how I am feeling. Seems easy enough.” John said as he felt like he just made the deal of a lifetime.
