Beth Goldstein was damn near panicking when she learned her boss was on campus and would be returning to the lab. He put his faith and trust in her, and this is how she repays him? By using the prototype without his knowledge or consent. Worse yet the person she shrunk was-
"Just calm down pumpkin. Everything is going to be alright." An older voice spoke.
The blonde ceased her frantic pacing and turned her attention towards the work bench where the shrunken form of her father stood. He'd dropped by to surprise her and check up on the project, and she'd been so eager to show him that she jumped ahead to human trials without Doctor Jordan's permission. She was so going to get fired for this.
"How can I calm down?" Her voice strained. "I'm shrunk you and I can't undo it! Steve's been so good to me and now I've put the project at risk! I'm going to get fired and blacklisted!"
Albert Goldstein wasn't about to tell his daughter that Steve couldn't fire her unless he wanted his funding to dry up, so instead he opted to tell her that everything would be alright and that Steve wouldn't hold this little incident against her.
'He better not.' He thought protectively. "I'm sure if you talk to him and explain the situation, he can help you undo this and then we can all go out to dinner and have a good laugh about it. My treat of course."
It was strange having to look up to meet his daughter's gaze since from his perspective she stood as tall as the Statue of Liberty. He couldn't deny he felt a bit of wariness, but he trusted his daughter and knew she would never purposefully try to harm him. Still, it was hard to not think about how she almost stepped on him after he shrunk.
"Daddy-" Beth began before being cut off by a familiar whistle. "Steve coming!"
"Good. Now all you have to do is... hey!" Albert cried as he was plucked from the bench. "Beth, what are you-"
"Sorry daddy, but I just can't tell Steve I screwed up this badly! I'll find some way to fix this, I promise! But in the meantime, I have to hide you somewhere!"
Albert blinked in surprise! "Beth..."
"I'll make it up to you later." She continued before planting a small kiss on the tiny man. "I love you."
