Rachel enjoyed taking care of little Hunter because he was a very undemanding child. When he and she discovered their shared secret they never told anyone about their relationship. To the people, ordinary people, their relationship would have been strange. Unnatural. However, for her, it was a very relaxing experience. The boy would hide in her body where he was safe. She, meanwhile, was taking care of, well, herself. She could have studied for exams or simply been idling.
Of course, Hunter didn't spend all his time sleeping in her womb. Sometimes he would wake up she would read books to him and they would listen to music together. Only when he was very hungry he decided to come out of his living shelter. When Hunter was outside again she took care of him like any other child. They played together, played games or drew. The bond as formed between them was "interesting." Rachel felt her little rascal wriggling and twisting inside her body. It was an alarm bell that he was no longer sleeping. When he calmed down she looked at the pie she was about to put in the oven.
"What are you doing?" She looked at her prominent belly.
"I'm baking treats for us." Her swollen scales moved.
"When will it be ready?"
"I think in an hour, ideally for dinner." She glanced at her watch. It was one o'clock."So what, are you going out?"
Silence. The silence lasted a little too long for Rachel. "Something is wrong?"
"Will I be able to come back here again?"
Rachel sighed loudly and stroked her belly. She stroked it as if the little human was really her baby. This conversation can no longer wait.
"It won't be possible anymore darling."
"Why?"
"You are a child and children grow. They grow until they become adults. You are already six years old and next year you will be seven. I can still hold you now, there inside but after that you will be too big."
The boy began to move around terribly."It wouldn't be safe for you or me. You might even die if you are too big for me. Would you want me to die?"
"No."
"Exactly. That's why we'll have to stop letting you hide in my special place anymore. I would like it to be different but unfortunately." She stroked her prominent belly. "I like you very much."
"I would rather have you than my mom."
"Honey, don't say that! Your mother loves you too! After all, she takes care of you more time than I do, right?"
"True."
"So she probably loves you more."
"But I love you."
Rachel looked at her belly. It was bad. What he would say was bad. He shouldn't have said it. She should rebuke him, immediately push him out of her body like an expendable egg. She couldn't do it. She was unable to. It turned out that the bond they had formed was too strong. She realized that now. Now that it's too late.
"I would like to have this son like you but.... if I took you away it would be a crime. I would have ended up in jail. I... PIE!!!" It only burned a little. Scratch off the burn with a knife and it will be good. At least, she thought, it baked well.
